Job Details

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform destructive testing (tear downs) on production samples using chisels, air tools, and

hammers to verify weld strength.
  • Measure nugget size and inspect fusion points of resistance spot welds against customer

requirements.
  • Identify and document weld failures, such as "cold welds" or undersized nuggets, to ensure

structural integrity.
  • Work closely with the Prototype Weld Supervisor to troubleshoot machine settings and

improve weld quality.
  • Maintain a safe and organized tear-down station, adhering to all PPE and safety protocols.

Requirements & Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • Ability to use hand tools and air tools effectively in a physical role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of how metal components are joined.
  • Commitment to safety and the use of protective equipment.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and record measurements accurately.

Nice to Haves:

  • Prior experience in a "tear down" or destructive testing role.
  • Knowledge of resistance spot welding (RSW) processes.
  • Basic proficiency with ERP systems or digital logging.
