Job Title: Splendora ISD Teacher Mentor

Exemption Status/Test: Exempt/Professional

Primary Purpose:

Splendora ISD is seeking dedicated and experienced mentors to support students and educators in their academic and professional growth. As a mentor, you will provide guidance, encouragement, and resources to help students and/or new teachers succeed in their educational journey. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for education, leadership, and community engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education

  • Have experience as a classroom teacher in the past three years

  • Preferably, previous experience in mentoring, coaching, teaching, or a similar role

  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to inspire and motivate students and educators

  • Knowledge of best practices in education and mentorship

  • Must have at least three years of teaching experience with a superior record of assisting students and improving student performance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students, educators, or staff members
  • Provide academic, career, and social-emotional guidance tailored to mentee needs
  • Facilitate one-on-one and group mentorship sessions
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support mentees
  • Assist in goal-setting and provide strategies for personal and professional development
  • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Participate in two summer training sessions and four training sessions throughout the school year
  • Mentors will meet with each mentee assigned no less than 12 hours each semester

Stipend: $1,500 per mentee
