Reporting to the Sr. Manager Plant Performance and Operations, Spice, The Spice Supervisor is responsible for organizing flow of work within the Spice Team, ensuring on time completion of orders, under the direction of the Sr. Manager Plant Performance and Operations, Spice.
Specific duties include:
· Responsible for first and second shifts of spice milling, pack and label, and PPO chamber
· Requisitions material required to meet production goals
· Examines items produced to determine if items meet specifications
· Monitors production, changeovers, and cleaning to ensure compliance and efficiency
· Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
· Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and
· Quality of product
· Maintains time and production records in payroll system and ERP system
· Must become familiar and proficient with Redzone
· Holds team accountable for safety procedures, quality procedures, performance, and attendance
· Responsible that all quality checks are completed
· Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency
· Responsible for ensuring production downtime is either minimized or eliminated and all material produced is within specification
· Helps to troubleshoot issues and recruits the appropriate support functions as needed
· Performs activities of workers supervised as needed
· Identifies training needs of those supervised
· Responsible for daily and weekly efficiency
· Participates and leads improvement activities
· Monitors production output versus standard and provide daily feedback to operators
· Mentors the team for individual growth
Required Qualifications
· Ability to assist in directing the activities of employees within department, must be a team player with the ability to develop and maintain a team environment.
· Degree in milling, engineering, supply chain or equivalent valued; High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required Two years minimum related experience in manufacturing and supervisory experience required
· Must have ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and have ability to speak effectively to his/her departmental employees.
· Has excellent computer skills. Ability to drive fork truck with certification. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
Work Environment
Noise level – mid range., regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. PPE is required to be worn.
Salary Range
$65,000 - $80,000 - $95,000
