Job Title: Specimen Technician Job Location: Cleveland, OH, 44103 Job Duration: 3 months (with possible extension) Shift: Third shift 9:00pm - 5:30am, Sunday - Thursday Payrate: $17.20 - $18.00/ hr. on w2 Job Summary: The Specimen Processing Technician I (SPT I) provides essential support within the Specimen Processing Department, ensuring accurate and timely handling of laboratory specimens. This role requires strong data entry skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform specimen processing tasks including pre-sort, A-station processing, centrifugation, aliquoting, and specimen distribution to laboratory departments. Accurately enter and verify patient and specimen data with a minimum typing speed of 6,000+ alphanumeric keystrokes per hour. Handle specimen imaging, scanning, and microfilming as required. Ensure proper labeling, tracking, and documentation of all specimens. Transport specimens safely within the laboratory while maintaining chain of custody and integrity. Maintain compliance with laboratory protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Adapt to frequent changes in test orders, compliance regulations, and workflow processes. Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and other departments. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following biohazard safety guidelines. Meet productivity, quality, and turnaround time standards in a high-volume setting. Work flexible schedules including night shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts as required.
