Job Overview:
Pay Range: $16.20hr - $18hr
Requirement/Must Have:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of computers.
- Ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
- Ability to learn and understand specimen types related to ordered tests.
- Ability to learn and understand compliance regulations related to test ordering.
- Availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required by staffing needs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department including A-station, presort, and imaging.
- Handle pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory.
- Perform centrifugation and aliquoting of specimens.
- Ensure all functions are performed with accuracy and in a timely manner.
- Work in a biohazard environment while practicing established safety habits.
- Maintain a neat and clean work area.
- Adhere to core values, safety, and compliance policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to changing daily requirements.
- Due to nature of job The candidate must have Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of laboratory testing and/or laboratory specimen processing.
- Medical background including medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
- Previous hospital laboratory experience.
- Previous experience in a production environment.
