Job Overview:
In this contingent resource assignment, you will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Specialty Software Engineering. You will review and analyze multi-faceted, larger-scale, or longer-term challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented factors. Additionally, you will contribute to resolving complex situations requiring a solid understanding of functional policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to meet deliverables. Collaboration and consultation with client personnel will be a key aspect of this role.
Responsibilities:
Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Specialty Software Engineering.
Analyze and resolve multi-faceted challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
Collaborate strategically with client personnel to meet deliverables.
Participate in hands-on development as a full member of the team, dedicated to modernization efforts.
Support the migration of mainframe systems to the cloud, focusing on backend development.
Work with SQL databases to process and manage large-scale data operations.
Contribute to the consolidation of 27 applications into 4 over a multi-year modernization project.
Potentially participate in weekend support rotations in the future.
Qualifications:
9 years of Specialty Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education.
9 years of Java development experience.
6 years of experience with Spring Boot.
3 years of cloud experience (Azure preferred, but any cloud is acceptable).
Database experience, particularly with SQL.
Experience with Kafka, JMS, and Kubernetes is a plus.
Ability to complete and pass a HackerRank or Glider assessment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, agile environment.

Pay Range: $60 - $70
