JOB SUMMARY
Representing a core business unit for MATHESON, this salesperson is responsible for increasing MATHESON's purifier, abatement and specialty gas equipment sales and market share within a defined territory by managing the sales process related to abatement, purification and specialty gas equipment.

The Sales Specialist will increase sales and market share by developing relationships achieving levels of trust and credibility with the clients' operation, engineering, lab personnel, safety, and procurement departments. Working directly with customers and supporting MATHESON's Specialty and Packaged Gas sales teams the SGPE will drive our equipment sales initiatives.

The SGPE will be responsible for sales and market share growth within a multi-state territory.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Understand and adhere to company safety work policies and operating practices: report safety incidents and near misses.
- Increase sales and market share of specialty gas purification, abatement, and equipment sales through direct and indirect sales activities within a defined territory.
- Develop sales leads into profitable accounts collaborating directly with customers and supporting local sales teams within defined regions.
- Serve as a conduit for information between clients and our senior management, operations, and quality assurance departments.
- Provide management with regular reporting and updates regarding key customer, prospects, and projects.
- Conduct sales calls for the specialty gas purification, abatement, and equipment directly to customers.
- Identify and assist in managing quotes and customer follow-up with Customer Service and Internal Salespersons.
- Assist in the knowledge of facility bulk gas purification systems, specialty gas equipment and delivery system and abatement material.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with customers.
- Follow up with monthly reports of sales and targets.
- Answer technical questions from customers to assist in the correct product offering.
- Work with teams to establish and maintain operating and maintenance procedures and preventative maintenance schedules for purification systems.
- This position requires a combination of office work and fieldwork after work hours may be expected with International Customers.
- Excellent communication and people skills are needed to develop working relationships with the management team.
- 30-50% travel will be required for this role.
