Specialty Commission Program Analyst

Duration: Direct hire 
Location: Fort Mill, SC 
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) 
Compensation: $65K- $89K annually 

Position Overview

The Specialty Commission Program Analyst serves as the subject matter expert for sales compensation programs, supporting the design, administration, analysis, and continuous improvement of commission plans across multiple sales channels. This role partners closely with Sales Leadership, Finance, HR, Payroll, IT, and Executive Management to ensure commission structures align with business objectives, drive desired sales behaviors, and support organizational growth.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, commission plan expertise, business intelligence reporting capabilities, and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives. Success in this role requires independent decision-making, strategic thinking, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Commission Program Management

  • Administer and manage sales commission programs, processes, and policies across multiple sales teams and compensation structures.
  • Support the development, enhancement, and implementation of new commission plans and incentive programs.
  • Evaluate commission plan effectiveness and recommend adjustments that align with company objectives and sales strategies.
  • Participate in commission steering committees and cross-functional task forces to ensure compensation plans drive desired business outcomes.
  • Review and evaluate field recommendations for compensation plan enhancements while maintaining consistency with core compensation philosophies.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to develop and implement initiatives that improve sales effectiveness and performance.

Reporting, Analytics & Business Intelligence

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex commission databases, models, and analytical tools to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain SQL-based KPI dashboards, performance metrics, and commission reporting solutions.
  • Develop territory and account-based compensation reporting to support leadership visibility and performance management.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly sales goal-setting processes, reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Manage and enhance business intelligence reporting to support sales operations and strategic planning.
  • Analyze compensation trends, staffing impacts, and sales performance data to provide actionable insights.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with IT teams and CRM administrators to ensure accurate sales representative assignments, territory alignment, and activity tracking.
  • Lead testing and validation of commission plan modifications, system enhancements, and process improvements.
  • Provide ongoing support for commission-related inquiries, issue resolution, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with HR and Payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely commission payments.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across Sales, Finance, HR, IT, and Executive Leadership teams.

Process Improvement & Training

  • Identify opportunities to improve commission administration processes, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop training materials and provide guidance to field leadership regarding compensation plans, goal setting, and reporting tools.
  • Establish and promote best practices for commission management and sales performance measurement.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance accuracy, transparency, and scalability of compensation programs.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3–5 years of experience in sales compensation, commission administration, sales operations, financial analysis, business analytics, or a related function.
  • Experience designing, managing, or supporting commission plans and incentive compensation programs preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong SQL and database management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, and CRM platforms.
  • Business intelligence reporting and dashboard development experience preferred.
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, or sales compensation management systems is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Wynne software is a plus.
