THE ROLE

A key member of the Bay Area staffing and office operations team, supporting the local Staffing/Program Management team and EVP, Talent and Business Operations. This role reports into the Director, Consulting Programs but interfaces closely across with the full Program Management team, the Office Head, Business Operations, and the Human Resources team. This role is a temporary, full-time position expected to last eight months. This role is expected to collocate at the San Francisco Office at least 3-days per week.

RESPONSIBILITES & DUTIES

Staffing & Capacity Planning

  • Drive "live" view of forward-looking staffing capacity planning and reporting, accounting for case kickoffs, roll points, consulting staff outages, and incoming/outgoing personnel
  • Administer the staffing survey and compile results to inform capacity and deployment decisions
  • Compile bi-weekly office Staffing Pipeline

Performance Management & Ratings

  • Drive the bi-annual consulting staff ratings (TAC) process end-to-end, including:

  • Set the office TAC calendar and support preparation of TAC materials

  • Maintenance of a database of people movement and prior ratings data to ensure consistency in calibration across each class/cohort

  • Collation and provision of inputs to the Program Management team for review and final calibration

  • Manage standardized case review and PDR chasing processes, including determining when to reach out and when to escalate to PMs and PDAs

Onboarding & Professional Development

  • Own full logistics and execution of the pre-XCT onboarding program for incoming consulting staff, ensuring a high-touch, developmental experience
  • Own class trainings for the AC-C population at critical career junctures, building on knowledge developed through the onboarding process
  • Support communications coaching initiatives, including batching of potential trainees, scheduling sessions, and administering feedback forms
  • Prepare and maintain advisor subscriptions; manage matches for new starts, transfer, LOAs, coverage advisors, returns, and departures
  • Own Affinity Group x PM check-in cadence, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and follow-up coordination
  • Own and operate sponsorship programs, including sponsor/sponsee matching, tracking people movement and sponsor capacity, check-in cadences, and stakeholder coordination

Talent Operations

  • Establish and maintain a structured cadence for team engagement and alignment, including regular case team pulse checks, case debriefs, weekly program management meetings, and team huddles
  • Act as systems lead for BOSS, Trellis (HCPD), and related platforms, ensuring data integrity and decision-enabling insights
  • Run ad hoc reports and advanced strategic analyses as requested by Program Management, Operations, and office leadership teams

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years professional experience is required, preferably in professional services
  • Strong customer service, meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills necessary
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and quantitative skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Ability to deal with highly confidential information appropriately
  • ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint is required
  • Deep knowledge of Bain & Company is preferable

U.S. COMPENSATION INFORMATION

Compensation for this role includes base salary, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service and Bain's best in class benefits package (details listed below).

Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range to be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows: In California, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $105,500 - $126,500.
