Qualifications:

Knowledge of FMLA and ADA

English and Spanish proficiency
Payroll, salary or benefits experience preferred
Experience in Human Resources preferred
Primary Purpose:
Responsible for tracking, monitoring, calculating pay and ensuring compliance for all areas of employee leave; in particular FMLA, Katy ISD Leave, and Temporary Disability Leave. Prepare actions and reports as needed working closely with the Compensation, Payroll, and Risk Management departments on leave issues.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge and be a primary resource to the district on questions related to FML, TDL, ADA, and other leaves; possible presentations to small groups. (handbook, policy, regulations).
- Process and track leaves for all employees in accordance with required timelines.
- Provide detailed explanations to employees regarding leave options and ramifications to district pay.
- Process and track Absence Control Policy.
- Accurately calculate pay for all biweekly and semimonthly employees related to leave for payroll purposes.
- Understand and communicate absence codes as related to various forms of leaves and how they may change in the course of a leave cycle.
- Responsible for processing and approving all personnel actions for biweekly and semimonthly employees related to the Sick Leave Bank.
- Primary correspondence with staff on questions related to Sick Leave Bank: timelines, paperwork, decisions from Committee.
- Organize and prepare Sick Leave Bank Committee Meetings.
- Maintain professional communication with employees who may be under duress.
- Prepare information for personnel actions related to leave and reports as needed working closely with the Compensation, Payroll, and Risk Management departments on leave issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Equipment Used:
Personal computer, printer, copier, scanner, telephone (headset available) and fax machine.
Working Conditions:
Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
