Summary
The Specialist II will be responsible for the administration of a portfolio of secured loans.. Specialist will ensure all account information is entered in internal systems correctly and will handle all aspects of bankruptcy servicing for the accounts in their designated queue. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Secured Bankruptcy.
Roles & Responsibilities
Oversee administration of specified portfolio(s) of secured loans
Assist Manager with updates to process documentation
Prepare and file proofs of claim and transfers of claim in bankruptcy cases as necessary and in a timely manner
Process correspondence and documents concerning account information, bankruptcy updates, and collateral
Provide support for phone calls with attorneys, bankruptcy trustees, and consumers as necessary
Access chapter 13 trustee websites to confirm payments and trustee claim information
Monitor accounts for payments in accordance with the bankruptcy plans. Contact trustee, debtor's attorney, or consumer (when appropriate) to facilitate timely pre-petition and post-petition payments
Research accounts using Phin Solutions, PACER, trustee sites, and internal systems
Ensure proper treatment of company-owned accounts in the bankruptcy cases
Perform discharge reviews to determine any lien release requirements and accounting adjustments upon discharge
Move for relief from the automatic stay when necessary
Process and file Reaffirmation Agreements when necessary
Process plan objections if our treatment in the bankruptcy plan is not adequate
Follow up on accounts regularly to ensure that no deadlines are missed
Notate all actions taken on each account in internal systems
Assist on special projects as assigned by management
Participate and graduate from the College of Knowledge courses provided by various Managers in the Bankruptcy Department
Complete functions connected to BOSS, OnBase, Monitoring PM/AM Report
Claim withdrawal and amendments
Requesting required media on accounts
Skills & Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bankruptcy and/or collection experience preferred
Attention to detail
Ability to multitask
Good computer and internet skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Educational Requirements
4-year degree preferred
