Description

Summary:

Duration: 4 months

Location: Tempe, AZ

Work Mode: Onsite, 5 days a week

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll data accurately by the required deadline.
  • Consistently apply company policy and government regulations to all processing.
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of all payroll-related information.
  • Review audit reports for accuracy and request corrections as necessary.
  • Research team member inquiries and provide solutions in a timely manner.
  • Possess knowledge of labor agreements and applicable processing requirements for specific workforce groups, such as unions.
  • Organize and maintain records utilizing special processing to reduce occurrences of incorrect payments to employees.
  • Adhere to existing SOX processing maps and requirements.
  • Assist in special projects, system testing, and other duties as assigned.
  • Document and update procedures.
  • Analyze business processes, making changes as necessary to increase efficiencies.
  • Analyze large amounts of data using Microsoft tools such as Excel/Macros.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent or equivalent training/experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of working in a high-volume, multi-state payroll department and/or payroll, accounting, or human resource experience.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Understanding of CBA / Union.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with payroll systems (SAP preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience/training.
  • Above average customer experience and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player in a high-stress environment.
  • Use of analytical skills to identify and address potential issues.
  • Ability to explain and interpret complex payroll information to employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word).
