Job Skills Requirements

We are looking for Custodians for our Special Services department with Washington University. Responsibilities vary by day based on client request but can include tasks such as cleaning furniture moving and/or disposal event setup or teardown managing waste stations carpet cleaning etc. This is a part-time position hours and days vary - we need someone flexible that can work any day and any time.

The hourly rate for this position is 16.65 hour.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to secure the cooperation of the custodial workers and assigned staff.
  • Tact in working with professional peers from other departments and all subordinates.
  • Initiative and judgment involved in assigning tasks delegating authority resolving problems and adjusting personnel grievances.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to reach bend stoop wipe push and pull.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing 100-150 pounds on a regular basis up to 200 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks within production and service timeframes established by the company.
  • Ability to work with various temperature extremes from hot to cold.
  • Must have the ability to observe in order to ensure proper cleaning standards are met.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • He or she is responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of all custodial duties of his or her shift on an economically sound basis and responsible for the administration of a predetermined plan of operation in accordance with corporate and client policies and the highest professional standards.
  • He or she is also given the authority necessary to accomplish these objectives. Ongoing training is required to keep current with the latest developments in the industry.
  • Fold and inventory Special Services laundry.
  • Required to wear all PPE at all times. Back brace safety glasses gloves etc.
  • Satisfy the needs of the client by providing quality services and ensure all contractual obligations are met.
  • Maintain good public relations with all customers.
  • Follow communication channels with management and staff to provide feedback on the operation leading to the implementation of operational improvements that better satisfy client needs.
  • Administer Daily Quality Assurance and conduct inspections for compliance with established standards and correct inefficiencies.

PERSONNEL

  • Maintain a safe operation and working environment in accordance with all federal state and local regulations.
  • Follow all cleaning techniques and conformity to service schedules consistent with operating policies and procedures. As instructed by Director.
  • Perform other duties as instructed.
