This Special Procedures Technologist position is based in Hermitage, TN at a 234-bed comprehensive acute care facility that holds Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI designation and Primary Stroke Center status, with clinical programs spanning cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, rehabilitation, and women's services.
The role. The Special Procedures Technologist scrubs and assists interventional physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral angiographic procedures, maintaining a sterile field and sterile tray setup throughout. The role requires hands-on competency in contrast media administration using age- and weight-specific guidelines, IV access initiation and maintenance, and working knowledge of drugs including their actions, side effects, and contraindications. The technologist accurately documents exam completion in Meditech, scans documents, and verifies images in PACS, while also measuring and disposing of radioactive waste in accordance with regulatory guidelines. This position includes cross-training in the cardiac cath lab and participation in a rotating call schedule.
What we're looking for.
• Current license or registry from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and ARRT certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist [RT(R)]
• Minimum of one year of experience in Special Procedures, Cath Lab, or EP Lab
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification must be completed within six months of hire
• Neuro experience preferred
