Annual Salary Range: $66,150 - 73,500

Summary of Job Duties:

1. Supervise assigned class.

2. Develop lessons appropriate to the students on both an individual and a group basis, which are consistent with the assigned curriculum and established IEP.

3. Carry out the planned daily schedule of appropriate educational activities as specified in the weekly plan.

4. Conduct annual assessments of the children in preparation for the Annual planning conference, and for program development.

5. Evaluate the progress of each student monthly and maintain regular written bi-monthly progress notes in the child’s case record with data collection.

6. Provide instruction and plans for Teaching Assistants and Teacher Aides to follow.

7. Supervise activities of assigned classroom staff.

8. To be thoroughly familiar with and knowledgeable of each student’s management and habilitative programs and the integration of these programs into the classroom schedule.

9. Participate in all planning meetings, team meetings, professional development, and all other relevant meetings.

10. Monitor all staff to ensure that dietary orders, equipment schedules, positioning schedules, and medical programs are implemented correctly and on time for all students.

11. Conduct regular supervisory meetings and annual performance appraisals of Educational staff assigned to the classroom.

12. Attend staff meetings and other meetings as required.

13. Serve as a facilitator to other disciplines, serving the needs of the students.

14. Participate in the interdisciplinary process of program implementation.

15. Supervise the safety and welfare of the students in the assigned class.

16. Serve as an educator for all staff involved in the educational program of the students and provide direct hands-on training to new staff assigned to the classroom.

17. Serve as facilitator in the communication of information about the students and their programs, needs, and abilities to other disciplines, including the rationale/benefits of programs to students.

18. Become knowledgeable of all emergency procedures regarding the students, staff, and facility.

19. Keep abreast of developments in the field of Special Education.

20. Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all supplies and equipment in the classroom.
