Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher in a vibrant community near Tempe, AZ. This engaging role focuses on providing exceptional instruction to preschool-aged children in cross-categorical Pre-K settings, allowing youto build meaningful relationships while supporting their growth and development.
You'll serve approximately 24 students, divided between morning and afternoon sessions of 10-12 children. Teachers benefit from the support of two dedicated instructional assistants during each session, ensuring collaborative and effective delivery of individual and group instruction. In this position, you will play a vital role in IEP development, instructional planning, and case management for each child on your caseload.
What we're seeking:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (Early Childhood or Cross-Categorical preferred)
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of early childhood curriculum, best practices, and developmental milestones
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and support staff
- Passion for creating a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
- Flexibility and organization in managing case files, documentation, and multiple student needs
Key responsibilities:- Deliver direct special education instruction in both individual and small-group formats
- Oversee daily classroom operations, ensuring a safe and structured learning environment
- Develop and maintain IEPs, monitor progress, and participate in eligibility and progress meetings
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student achievements and needs
- Collaborate with instructional assistants to enhance student engagement and success
- Assist in the integration of specialized strategies and assistive tools
