A rewarding opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher in a supportive elementary school setting, located in Hamlet, NC. This contract role is focused on providing dedicated educational support within a separate setting classroom for young learners, ages 6-8. The position runs through the end of the school year, with working hours from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to the unique needs of students in a separate setting classroom.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create and implement effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to promote academic and social development.
- Manage classroom behavior in a positive, nurturing manner that fosters a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings and other relevant conferences.
Qualifications and Experience:- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience teaching elementary-aged children, preferably ages 6-8.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
