SPECIAL ED TEACHER
JOB DESCRIPTION
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
190 day contract (additional days may be contracted for extra duties).
Job Type: Licensed Teacher.
Reports to: Campus Principal or Designee.
Salary based on district Licensed Salary Schedule.
FLSA Status: Exempt.
10 days sick leave per year of employment.
3 days personal leave per year.

GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to):
Teach academic and functional skills to educationally and physically disabled students.
Modify the general education curriculum for special-needs students, based upon a variety of instructional techniques and technologies.
Present the subject matter according to guidelines established by the ADE,

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS and/or REQUIREMENTS:
Physical Requirements: To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily.
Intelligence: Requires the ability to read and follow a variety of instructions on district, state, and federal websites as well as hard copy.
Language Ability: Requires the ability to read a variety of correspondences. Requires the ability to prepare lessons, reports, etc. using prescribed formats and conforming to all rules of grammar.
Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to give oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must possess the ability to speak to people with poise, voice control, and confidence. Must be able to deliver effective presentations to both small and large audiences.
