Eastern Greene Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and collaborative 1st/2nd Grade Special Education Inclusion Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs within the general education setting. This position works closely with classroom teachers, administration, and families to provide inclusive, standards-based instruction and individualized support for students in first and second grades.
The ideal candidate demonstrates flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to building positive relationships with students, families, and staff while promoting student growth academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.
Qualifications
- Valid Indiana educator license in Elementary Special Education required
- Experience with Indiana IEP development systems preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification required
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to analyze data and adjust instruction accordingly
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning
Job Goals

Expectations
- Plan and collaborate regularly with general education teachers
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for students with varying ability levels
- Deliver instruction in general education classrooms
- Participate in and facilitate case conference committee meetings as needed
- Develop and maintain IEPs in accordance with Indiana guidelines
- Administer assessments to evaluate academic progress and instructional needs
- Analyze student data and make instructional adjustments and modifications
- Provide instruction and support for appropriate social, emotional, and behavioral skills
- Maintain accurate records and prepare progress reports
- Stay current on best practices and topics in special education
- Demonstrate flexible thinking, strong problem-solving skills, and professionalism
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff
- Be available for occasional after-school responsibilities and events as needed
- Demonstrate reliability and preparedness in meeting daily responsibilities and assigned duties
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Director of Special Education
Additional Responsibilities May Include
- Providing direct special education services to students in grades 1-2
- Assisting with morning and afternoon duties, including parent and bus drop-off/pick-up supervision

- Ability to carry, lift, push, or pull routinely
