Position Overview:
The Holy Hill Area School District is seeking a full-time elementary special education teacher to join the Friess Lake Elementary team. Teachers provide instruction in math, literacy, character development along with academic and behavioral intervention. Teachers are a part of a high performing Professional Learning Community and have common collaborative time along with access to a variety of support from an Instructional Coach, Math and Reading Specialists. Friess Lake Elementary School utilizes the following curriculum resources: Illustrative Mathematics, From Phonics to Reading, Collaborative Classroom for Reading/Writing (new in 2026-27), and Character Strong. We are heavily invested in the PLC and RtI at Work process to support professional growth and layers of instruction for all students to succeed at high levels.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Administer formalized assessments to guide targeted instruction, establish student goals, and provide feedback to stakeholders.
- Routinely monitor and document student progress toward academic and behavioral goals.
- Provide specially designed instruction and support for students within the general education environment.
- Effectively balance and manage student needs across multiple grade levels.
- Provide clear direction, training, and support for paraprofessionals working within assigned grades.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to develop and implement effective classroom accommodations.
- Build positive, supportive relationships with students that foster academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Utilize district-approved Response to Intervention (RTI) strategies to support diverse learners.
- Actively participate in the school's social, emotional, and behavioral initiatives, CharacterStrong curriculum, and restorative practices.
- Engage productively with colleagues within a Professional Learning Community (PLC).
- Seek continuously learning and participate in all school and district-level professional development.
