We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Consulting Special Education Teacher to join our team in the healthcare industry. This individual will be responsible for consulting with healthcare professionals, families, and children to develop and implement effective educational strategies and learning plans. This is a full-time position that requires a unique blend of expertise in special education and a deep understanding of the healthcare sector. The successful candidate will have a passion for improving the lives of children with special needs, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, and a strong desire to make a difference.

Responsibilities:

1. Consult with healthcare professionals and educators to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for children with special needs.
2. Provide expert advice on the adaptation of teaching methods and materials to meet the unique needs of each child.
3. Collaborate with families to understand the child's needs and to develop strategies to support learning and development at home.
4. Conduct assessments to identify children's educational needs and monitor their progress.
5. Train healthcare and educational professionals on best practices in special education.
6. Advocate for the educational rights of children with special needs within the healthcare system.
7. Stay current on research and developments in special education and healthcare to continuously improve service delivery.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
2. Minimum of 2 years experience as a full-time Learning Specialist or similar role.
3. Valid teaching credential in Special Education.
4. Extensive knowledge of special education law and best practices.
5. Familiarity with the healthcare sector and the unique challenges faced by children with special needs.
6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of professionals and families.
7. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop creative solutions to complex issues.
8. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
9. Commitment to staying current on developments in the fields of special education and healthcare.
10. Passion for improving the lives of children with special needs and their families.
