Job Description:
Lakeland Union High School has a full-time special education teacher/case manager position, beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. This position will provide students with disabilities a well-rounded education based upon knowledge in current evidence based educational practices, social and emotional learning, and trauma sensitive practices. The ideal candidate should be flexible, able to develop educational plans for students based on individual needs, possess strong 21st century technology skills, and be willing to work in a team environment with all educators within the district.
Detailed Description:
Under the direction of the Building Principal and the Director of Special Education, the Case Manager/Special Education Teacher develops and provides developmentally appropriate education services to students whose abilities differ from their peers, evaluates and assesses student progress against instructional objectives, modify existing curriculum on basic subjects to meet each student's learning requirements, follows state mandated due process procedures, functions as an IEP manager to assigned students, collaborate with school counselors, related service providers, psychologists, general education teachers, and parents.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast pace flexible environment
Knowledge of components of successful reading instruction/science of reading
Expertise in social skill instruction and self-regulation

Requirements:
This position requires a valid teacher certification or the ability to hold a valid teacher certification and/or Bachelor''s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university with willingness to obtain licensure in the area of special education. Wisconsin DPI License #1801, #1810, #1811, or #1830 are preferred. Other teacher licenses will be considered with applicant intent to obtain licensure in the area of special educatio

The Lakeland Union High School District is one of ten union high schools in the State of Wisconsin, providing a comprehensive high school education to students in grades 9-12. It is also the largest geographical school district in the State of Wisconsin, encompassing over 800 square miles. The district is supported by four independent elementary districts and includes parts of Vilas, Oneida, and Iron counties and the reservation of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
