Job Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: Atlanta, GA 30317
Schedule: Full-time, school-based

Pay Rate: Starting at $40/hour (dependent on experience)
Position Overview
Birch Agency is seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to support students in school-based settings throughout Atlanta, Georgia. This opportunity allows educators to make a meaningful impact by providing individualized academic, behavioral, and developmental support to students with diverse learning needs.

We are actively seeking professionals who are passionate about creating structured, supportive learning environments and helping students reach their full academic, social, and functional potential.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with student needs and educational goals.

  • Provide differentiated instruction for students with a variety of disabilities and learning challenges.

  • Deliver services in inclusive, resource, self-contained, push-in, or pull-out settings depending on student placement and school needs.

  • Implement positive behavior supports and effective classroom management strategies.

  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.

  • Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, staff trainings, and multidisciplinary planning sessions.

  • Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.

  • Foster a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student growth and independence.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field required.

  • Active Georgia Special Education teaching certification required (or ability to obtain through reciprocity).

  • Experience working with students with mild/moderate or moderate/severe disabilities preferred.

  • Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and special education compliance.

  • Passion for supporting students with diverse educational and behavioral needs.
Work Environment

  • School-based setting serving students across various grade levels. (K-8)
