Special Education Teacher Assistant-Transition Program, Transitioning Onwards Promotes Success (TOPS), Students Ages 18-21
Reports To: Director of Special Education Classification: Paraprofessional (Clerical/Teacher Assistant) Wage/Hour Status: Non-exempt Days: 188 Salary: See Compensation Plan for Paraprofessional/Administrative Support Staff, Pay Grade 203 Contract: None Date Revised: 11/15/2023
Primary Purpose: Assist young adults and teachers in the special education TOPS program, which is a program focusing on job training.
Qualifications/Skills:
Education/Certification: Minimum of 48 college hours or high school diploma/equivalent plus pass a District Assessment. Educational Aide Certification. Obtained or Ability to Obtain a Texas Commercial Driver License to transport students preferred.
Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work with young adults using appropriate interpersonal skills. Ability to work and communicate with children and adults effectively. Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
