Major Functions: Responsible for implementing the individualized supports and services for students with identified disabilities in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The SPED assistant will provide a safe classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth; will establish effective rapport with students, parents, and educational supports/providers; and will motivate students to develop and increase skills necessary to make progress on IEP goals and grade-level standards.
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma/GED equivalent and successful completion of the ACT Workkeys or 48 approved semester hours or Associates Degree. Ability to work with special needs children.
