Duties
JOB DUTIES:
- Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEP's) for Students; maintain compliance with all Federal Regulations and State Policies regarding the education of students with disabilities.
- Provide educational and behavioral supports to enable students to improve academically and behaviorally.
- Collect and analyze student data in order to modify and/or develop appropriate educational and behavioral goals.
- Be able to implement specific educational and behavioral supports.
- Provide direction and training to paraprofessional staff.
- Effectively work with a large team of professionals.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to students'' maturity and interests.
- Assess students'' accomplishments regularly and provide progress reports as required.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Build a partnership with families, encouraging their active participation in students' learning.
- Ensure appropriate accommodations to the curriculum, lessons, and learning environment. Instruction may be provided in the regular classroom and/or a small classroom setting.
- May assist students with physical disabilities according to their needs, including transferring to and from wheelchairs, lifting, positioning, or assisting students with personal care such as feeding, bathroom needs, and personal hygiene.
Qualifications
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with Learning Behavior Specialist
I endorsement or Learning Behavior Specialist II endorsement preferred.
Salary/Benefits
$45,183 - $89,357 per year(Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule, 7.5 Hours/day)
Group Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance; Sick and Personal Time; TRS
