This position is for the 2026-2027 school year and involves supporting students with special needs as a Special Education Instructional Assistant.
Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, successful completion of the paraeducator exam or 64 college credits, and willingness to undergo Safe Crisis Management training.
The assistant reports to the building principal or classroom teacher and works with students under teacher guidance. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering adapted instruction, assisting with health and self-care needs, collecting student progress data, adapting instructional materials, supporting small group and individual student activities, and aiding students in mobility and therapy services. The role also involves behavior management, maintaining confidentiality, and fostering teamwork.
Physical demands include standing, walking, communicating effectively, lifting up to 50 lbs, and passing crisis management training. Punctuality and regular attendance are essential.
