Distinguished by increased independence and complex program support, incumbents perform a variety of tasks including tutoring, preparing lessons, administering tests, and maintaining records.
Responsibilities include monitoring student behavior, assisting with lab work, clerical duties, setting up materials, operating equipment, and providing emotional support and guidance to students.
Confer with teachers, contact parents, ensure student health and safety, oversee group activities, and participate in meetings and training.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, experience working with children, and either 64 college hours or passing the Kentucky Para-educators Exam.
