Special Education Facilitator
The position of a Special Education Facilitator will be available at East Central ISD for the 2026-2027 school year. All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. The deadline for submitting an application is 4:00 pm., June 12, 2026, or until the position is filled.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide special education students with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to match student ability levels. Work in a self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignment
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area
Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting process and implementation
Knowledge of how to adapt curriculum and instruction for special needs
Effective communication skills
Five years of teaching experience in special education
East Central experience preferred
Experience:
One year student teaching or approved internship
EQUIPMENT USED: Personal computer and peripherals, and other instructional equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Frequent walking. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment. May be required to lift and position students with physical disabilities; control behavior through physical restraint, and assist non-ambulatory students. May work prolonged or irregular hours. Exposure to biological hazards.

SALARY: Based on the 2026-2027 Classroom Teacher Salary
