POSITION DESCRIPTION
Huron Valley Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, competent and effective teacher for students with cognitive impairments. Looking for a highly collaborative employee and one who is effective in meeting the functional academic and communication needs of the population.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Educationendorsement in Cognitive Impairments (SA) or other special education area.
Additional Endorsement Preferred: ZG Elementary K-5 All Subjects (K-8 All Subjects in Self-Contained Classroom)
Must meet the Highly Qualified standard under the ESSA OR be recommended for acertificate or endorsement, constituting full approval in a special education area by an institution of higher education signifying verification of completion of a teacher program, as approved by the State Board of Education.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree or higher required.
LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS: Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
