Job Title: Special Education Educational Assistant
Location: General Sherman Junior High
Qualifications for above positions:
- High school diploma
- Valid state license to practice as an Educational Aide
- Passage of the Paraprofessional Test or 2 year degree
- Classroom experience with handicapped students
- Ability to work with students with behavior difficulties
- Must be able to deal appropriately with students who exhibit emotional or behavioral problems, aggressive behavior, or physical problems
- Physically capable to apply CPI techniques when necessary
- Clear BCI/FBI report
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate
