Position Summary

This role offers the opportunity to provide one-on-one support during lessons and activities, foster meaningful connections, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment. Additional responsibilities include assisting with classroom preparation, organization, and supporting effective classroom management.

Reports to: Teacher

Knowledge, Skills & Implementation

Good communication skills following written and verbal instructions Ability to relate to students with compassion Maintain confidentiality of student information at all times Demonstrates a high level of integrity and accountability Demonstrates patience when dealing with students with varying abilities

The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substances abuse in the workplace throughout their employment in the corporation.

Engaged and present during class sessions Instructional Leadership

Guide and assist students with lessons, activities, and technology tasks under the direction of the classroom teacher. Reinforce concepts that were taught in specialized instruction. Assist teachers with classroom activities and lessons. Adapt and modify coursework under the direction of the classroom teacher. Attend field trips and other community activities implemented for students. Assist classroom teachers with implementing behavior support plans.

Performs other duties as assigned at the request of the teacher or their designee. Additional supervision as required by the teacher.

Qualifications & Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
