Special Education Assistant - Full Time - RJ Grey Junior High School

Hourly Pay Rate: $26.31 - $30.22

The Acton-Boxborough Regional School District, a Prek-12 district, is seeking a skilled and experienced special education assistant to work within the special education department at the R.J. Grey Junior High School. This assistant role will work with students with autism from our Connections and Pathways programs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide positive behavior supports and academic interventions for students
  • Work with lead teacher to provide academic, social, emotional, and behavioral support and intervention
  • Work collaboratively with team of general education and special education teachers and therapists
  • Collect data
  • Implement taught strategies across environments to reinforce skills and promote carryover

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in special education or related field preferred
  • Experience in public school setting
  • Experience working with young adults with disabilities
  • Able to take initiative and work independently
  • Knowledge of adolescent development
