JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and highly communicative Student Aide to

support a student in a school environment. The primary goal is to facilitate

academic engagement, social interaction, and daily school activities.

Conversational fluency in sign language is strictly required to ensure the

student can communicate seamlessly throughout the school day.

RESPONSIBILITIES: * Communication Support: Utilize fluent conversational sign language to assist

the student in understanding instructions, participating in class, and socializing

with peers.

• Academic Assistance: Help the student stay focused, organize materials, and

follow classroom routines under the direction of the lead teacher.

• Daily Transitions: Accompany the student safely between classrooms, lunch,

recess, and transportation drop-off/pick-up zones.

• Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, speech therapists, and parents to

implement the student's learning and communication goals.

QUALIFICATIONS: * Sign Language Fluency: Must possess conversational fluency in American

Sign Language to quickly and naturally interpret classroom dynamics.

• Education: High school diploma required; college coursework in education,

special education, or deaf studies is highly preferred.

• Flexibility: Ability to adapt to a schedule that may shift between part-time and

full-time hours based on student need.

• Clearances: Must pass all school-mandated background checks, fingerprinting,

and child abuse clearances.

PAY SCALE: $26,138.00 (Step 1) - $37,743.00 (Step 14) Full-time position (will be prorated

based on student need)
