Summary:

The Spare Parts and Inventory Specialist manages both standard and non-standard parts to support global equipment services for field service and fabrication. This role is responsible for ordering, tracking, shipping, inventory transactions, and physical counts to ensure accurate inventory records are maintained. Responsibilities are not limited to those listed and may include additional duties as assigned.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage spare parts inventory and supply for field equipment and fabrication worldwide, including inventory accuracy, stock levels, storage, and replenishment.
  • Maintain and adjust SAP safety stock and reorder points, or physically order parts if not set up on MRP within established parameters
  • Perform timely and accurate SAP and Maximo transactions for incoming and outgoing materials
  • Comply with the record retention policy and maintain compliant inventory records
  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming parts for quality, accuracy, counts, documentation, and inventory updates; work with vendor to correct any errors, which may include returning damaged or incorrect items
  • Order, maintain, and coordinate timely, cost-effective shipment of spare parts to support stakeholder needs
  • Ship domestic and international parts and materials using required documentation and established processes; escalate complex compliance questions or exceptions
  • Manage parts room and supplies to ensure ongoing capabilities for small package and freight shipments, in accordance with good housekeeping practices and defined guidelines
  • Support special projects as needed, including obtaining quotes for new or non-inventory items and determining if a new part number is required in SAP
  • Monitor changes to vendor pricing and terms, and communicate those changes to Manager, Equipment Fabrication; assist in finding alternate vendors as needed
  • Provide responsive service to stakeholders, and communicate with the receiving entity regarding appropriate delivery location and date, and ensure the expected items were provided once delivered
  • Provide inventory spend and count reports as requested by Manager, Equipment Fabrication
  • Comply with safety and regulatory requirements at all times
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Ability to set priorities, manage work schedules, and complete assignments with minimal supervision
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization and with external partners
  • Ability to operate a forklift; training and competency verification will be provided
  • Collaborative work style with a focus on stakeholder support and organizational results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, inventory and asset management systems, and field-based technology tools, SAP strongly preferred
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
  • Ability to travel to material suppliers, equipment fabricators, or injection sites (5 – 15%)

 

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience working with materials, inventory, or production processes in an operational environment

 

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, or related technical field
  • 1+ years of SAP and/or Maximo asset management software experience
  • Knowledge of the pipeline and/or drag reducing agent (DRA) industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge regarding mechanical equipment testing, installation, and operation
  • Knowledge of LSPI injection system technology and “hands-on” experience with mechanical, electrical, and control systems

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, and climb steps and ladders
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance
  • Ability to read labels, part numbers, shipping documents, and system screens accurately
  • Ability to regularly lift, move, and carry tools, parts, equipment, and fittings weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in office, warehouse, shop, and field environments with varying temperatures and noise levels
