Job Summary
This position is advertised from the minimum to the mid- pont hourly rate. Salary will be determined based on education and experience at the time of offer.
NATURE OF WORK Under minimal supervision, performs library work of moderate difficulty in the coordination of Spanish language library services for the public; acts as lead worker for some library staff and assists the Main Branch Manager; this position has department specific responsibility; hours may vary (Monday - Saturday) depending on the needs of the Library District.
Nature of Work
(Illustrative only) Gives guidance and direction to staff and oversees library functions in the absence of the on-site supervisor; reviews daily schedule and makes changes when necessary to ensure proper coverage; assists with the supervision, trains, and coordinates the functions of the assigned staff and volunteers; provides training, instruction, and orientation to new employees; determines work schedules for outreach events; communicates with patrons, interprets complex questions related to their needs, and resolves issues; collects, tracks, and generates reports for the Spanish Outreach program statistics; assists with the reviewing, selection, and ordering of Spanish language materials; oversees Spanish programs throughout the Library District; holds meetings quarterly with Spanish Outreach Library Assistant I's; visits Branches twice a year to review programs and provide assistance; develops and maintains partnerships with community agencies; works with Community Relations Manager to ensure marketing and outreach to the community; utilizes social media to promote library services; responsible for report writing and program statistics; may check materials in and out, handle fees and fines, issue library cards, and shelve books and materials; plans and coordinates various activities for outreach throughout the year; ensures assigned staff are engaging with the community.; ensures that registrations for events are filed and submitted in a timely manner. Generates reports; assists patrons with their needs; responds to complaints; organizes and conducts library programs and activities; promotes public library services to the local community; develops, conducts and records virtual programming (i.e. story time, crafts, robotics, STEAM programming and emerging technology); may be assigned to work in other library branches and divisions; maintains automated and manual files; assists in preparation of schedules, reports and correspondence; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
Associate's degree in business, public administration or a closely related field; and three years working in a library; AND one year of supervisory experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; must possess or have the ability to obtain a fingerprint Clearance Card; Bilingual (English/Spanish) required; requires successful completion of a background check. Must possess and maintain valid Arizona driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: Yuma County and Department policies and procedures and functions; techniques of library operations; the Dewey Decimal System; children's services as practiced in public libraries; books and authors; principles and practices of supervision.
Skill in: Assigning and reviewing work performance of others; using office machines, and automated system; business English, spelling and arithmetic; providing effective customer-oriented service; handling irate patrons and tense situations; communicating verbally and in writing; following written instructions; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public; training.
Ability to: Effectively respond to phone calls, emails and complaints in a timely manner; plan, prioritizes, manages and responds to multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment; read, write, research, synthesizes data and detailed reports; use modern office equipment and computers; assigning and leading the work of others; communicate effectively verbally and written; lift up to 40 lbs; perform the essential functions of the job specifications with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking and 20% standing; working at a computer monitor for extended periods required; the job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment and may have risk of exposure to communicable diseases.

Medical Coverage Category
The YCEBT is a self-funded medical plan administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona (BCBSAZ). The employee is able to select from two (2) medical plan options with six (6) tiers that will best suit the employees needs, dependents or families.
Plan Option 1: Preferred Provider Option A (PPO) or PPO A 1100 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing a preventative visit.
Plan Option 2: High Deductible High Plan - Health Savings Account (HDHP-HSA) with a 1700 deductible. Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing a preventative visit.
Employer contributes a total of $800.04 to employees Health Savings Account. If employees select Employee only and participate in the "Wellness Incentive" employees can receive up to 360.00 contribution to a Limited Purpose FSA card to be used for medical or dental purposes.
International Medical Solutions (IMS): IMS is available to employees who are enrolled in YCEBT Medical PPO Plan A and HDHP. Members enrolled in the PPO plan can pay as little as $5 copay for doctor visits & prescription drug services, with no maximum cap. High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) pay toward their deductible until is met. After the deductible is satisfied, the plan will pay 80% of the services covered, and the member will be responsible for the remaining 20% coinsurance.
