____ Position Title Adjunct Instructor of Spanish Department of Humanities Work Schedule Part-time 3-4 credit hours during the Spring 2026 Semester Example of Duties The Adrian College Department of Humanities announces an adjunct instructor position for Spring 2026 to teach upper- level Spanish courses. The successful candidate will foster communicative competence in speaking listening reading writing and Hispanic cultures. The successful candidate will • Teach one upper- level Spanish course specific course assignment based on departmental need . • Design and deliver engaging instruction that strengthens advanced language proficiency. • Incorporate authentic materials from Spanish -speaking regions including literature film and media . • Develop assignments that encourage research discussion and written expression in Spanish • Assess student progress and provide timely constructive feedback. • Maintain regular availability to support students outside of scheduled class time. • Collaborate with faculty in the Humanities to ensure course alignment with departmental goals and learning outcomes . • Follow all o ther Adrian College policies related to duties. Minimum Requirements • Masters degree in Spanish Hispanic Studies Applied Linguistics or a closely related field by January 2026. • Native or near -native proficiency in Spanish and English. • Demonstrated success teaching advanced -level Spanish courses at the college or university level. • Strong commitment to student- centered instruction and intercultural learning. • Ability to integrate technology and diverse media into classroom teaching. Desir ed Qualifications • Ph.D. or ABD in Spanish Hispanic Studies Applied Linguistics or a closely related field by January 2026. • Experience teaching upper -level courses in areas such as Spanish literature culture translation or Spanish for the professions. • Familiarity with course management software such as Blackboard and Blackbaud. • Demonstrated ability to support inclusive and engaging learning environments.
