    The Training Manager provides overall leadership and accountability with accountability to run the primary North America training center in Houston, overseeing various learner populations while ensuring intentional alignment across areas of overlap including but not limited to rig operations and technician development.

    This role leads the integration of technical (product line) and rig operations training, bringing product line and rig operations teams together to close technical capability gaps while also ensuring training supports real-world execution, operational readiness, and consistent performance in the field.

    The Manager is responsible for training delivery and continuous improvement across curriculum design, instructor development, competency assurance (CAMS), and administrative compliance. The role ensures all training content is accurate, standardized, and aligned with operational, technical, and safety requirements.

    Minimum Qualifications/Skills

    Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelor's degree (Organizational Development, Training & Development, Adult Learning, Education, Business

    Management/Administration) or equivalent experience.

    • 5+ years of supervisory experience (or demonstrated leadership capability at a management-ready level with project

    leadership experience).

    • Technical background in oilfield equipment, mechanical/electrical systems, drilling technology, or related industrial

    maintenance trade.

    • Experience conducting training, mentoring, coaching, or leading technical personnel in a technical environment.

    Core Skills

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to instruct, coach, and provide constructive performance

    feedback.

    • Proficient in preparing reports, tracking metrics, and managing training documentation.
    • Familiarity with competency management frameworks (CAMS), training evaluation, and safety compliance.
    • Strong project management skills (managing plans, milestones, and tasks).
    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products.
    • Willing and able to travel domestically/internationally as required (approx. 15%-20%).

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior experience in training program supervision, team leadership, or instructor development
    • Experience with CAMS or similar competency management systems.
    • Technical proficiency with rig equipment systems (top drives, rig control automation, electrical troubleshooting,

    hydraulic equipment).

    • Professional training certifications or adult learning/education credentials.
    • Experience delivering training via Webex or other virtual platforms to multi-location audiences.
    • Experience leveraging advanced enablement tools (simulators/blended learning/LMS adoption) to improve outcomes and standardization.

    Team Leadership

    • Provide direct leadership for both Operations Development and Technician Development teams, setting

    expectations, priorities, and performance standards across the training center.

    • Maintain the mission and deliverables of each team while driving consistent execution standards (quality,

    safety, documentation, evaluation rigor).

    • Evaluate, coach, and support trainers; drive professional development and expansion of technical and

    instructional skillsets.

    Planned Alignment & Leverage of Overlap

    • Establish a shared operating rhythm (weekly planning, monthly review, quarterly roadmap) that

    coordinates both teams' priorities and prevents conflicting schedules, duplicate work, or inconsistent

    standards.

    • Create and govern a common framework for: instructional standards, assessment approach, training

    documentation, and performance reporting-used by both teams.

    • Identify overlap opportunities (shared equipment systems, troubleshooting methodology, safety

    expectations, training aids, common evaluations) and implement joint solutions (shared modules, shared

    labs, co-teaching where useful).

    Competency Assurance & CAMS Oversight

    • Oversee implementation and effectiveness of the Competency Assurance Management System (CAMS),

    ensuring consistent delivery and alignment with organizational standards.

    • Maintain accurate competency records and performance data; generate reports to evaluate technician

    and trainer competency trends and identify gaps.

    • Ensure evaluation and assessment practices meet technical, procedural, and safety expectations through

    observation, audits, and coaching.

    Training Program Execution & Quality Control

    • Supervise execution and quality of training initiatives, ensuring efficient delivery and adherence to

    established standards.

    • Evaluate training outcomes, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions and improvements to increase

    program effectiveness and consistency.

    • Deliver instructor-led and virtual training as needed (classroom/Webex), including hands-on training

    activities aligned with program needs.

    Curriculum Architecture, Content Development & Governance

    • Develop, update, and maintain curriculum, manuals, guides, visual references, troubleshooting resources,

    and structured learning paths.

    • Translate operational lessons learned and technical changes into scalable training content and learning

    experiences.

    • Ensure training content stays technically accurate and current by partnering with SMEs and relevant

    stakeholders.

    Technical Enablement / Product & System Alignment (As Applicable)

    • Where applicable, serve as a liaison to ensure training reflects equipment/system design changes,

    software releases, and product lifecycle updates that impact field performance and reliability.

    • Incorporate troubleshooting scenarios and root-cause learning into training content and assessments to

    strengthen field readiness.

    Performance Evaluation, Metrics & Reporting

    • Track trainee and trainer performance metrics and provide feedback and action plans to improve

    outcomes.

    • Compile and present training performance reports to leadership, including program metrics, gap trends,

    and improvement recommendations.

    • Use data and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement in training quality, consistency, and

    operational readiness.

    Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment

    • Coordinate with Operations, HR, area leadership, and training staff to align training objectives with

    operational demands.

    • Function as a liaison between trainees, trainers, and leadership to communicate requirements, concerns,

    and recommendations effectively.

    Administrative & Operational Support

    • Oversee training documentation, training matrices, certification tracking, and internal/third-party training

    records.

    • Ensure training materials and supplies are current, available, and maintained to support delivery needs.
    • Support training administration activities including cost tracking, invoicing assistance, and compliance

    reporting; coordinate with Training Administrator(s) to maintain workflows and requirements.

    General

    • Maintain effective working relationships with Training Managers, Coordinators, Area Managers, HR, and
