Sous-Chef Yacht Club & Y Bar

Horseshoe Bay Resort is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to support culinary operations at the Yacht Club & Y Bar, a vibrant lakeside dining destination offering both upscale cuisine and a lively, social atmosphere. This role is key to delivering exceptional dishes from fresh East Coast oysters and tuna crudo to elevated entr es like wagyu ribeye, lobster thermidor, and duck confit while leading a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

The Yacht Club offers a refined yet welcoming clubhouse experience with views of Lake LBJ, featuring chef-driven cuisine, an extensive wine list, and handcrafted cocktails. The Y Bar provides a relaxed, high-energy setting with live music, signature drinks, and weekend nightlife.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations for Yacht Club dining and Y Bar service
  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and execution
  • Lead, train, and develop the kitchen team members
  • Coordinate prep and execute smooth, efficient service
  • Assist with menu development and seasonal features
  • Manage inventory, food cost, and labor controls
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
  • Support high-volume service, special events, and live music nights

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of culinary leadership experience with a degree, or 4+ years in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations
  • Experience in high-volume, upscale dining preferred
  • Ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities
  • POS/inventory system experience is a plus
  • Must be 18+ with a valid driver's license
  • ServSafe Manager and Food Handler certifications required
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift to 50 lbs
