We re growing and we re looking for a Sous Chef who brings skill, steadiness, and pride in their craft to every experience.

At Around the Table, we believe food is more than a meal it s an experience. We create elevated culinary experiences for private gatherings, events, and corporate clients, always with care, creativity, and genuine hospitality. We re a collaborative team that values communication, balance, and execution just as much as great flavor.

We re not a traditional restaurant. We re looking for a Sous Chef who thrives in a dynamic environment, supports the Chef in leading culinary execution, and brings both skill and calm to the kitchen. This role is hands-on, collaborative, and ideal for someone who values quality, teamwork, and flexibility over the grind of restaurant service.

Your Role:
  • Support the Chef in planning, prepping, and executing catered events and culinary experiences

  • Lead kitchen operations during events when the Chef is off-site or managing multiple services

  • Assist with menu development, testing, and refinement

  • Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet Around the Table standards

  • Manage prep schedules, timelines, and service flow

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen environment

  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and receiving

  • Help train and support kitchen staff and event support team members

  • Adapt confidently to different event formats, locations, and service styles

Who You Are:

  • An experienced culinary professional with Sous Chef level or equivalent leadership experience

  • Confident in technique, food safety, and kitchen organization

  • Comfortable in catering and event-based environments (or excited to grow into one)

  • Calm, dependable, and clear-headed under pressure

  • A strong communicator who values collaboration

  • Flexible, solutions-oriented, and willing to pitch in where needed

  • Available for evenings, weekends, and occasional daytime hours

  • Someone who takes pride in their work and cares about the guest experience
