Would you like to be part of a recruiting team that is responsible for fueling the rapid growth of AWS? Do you thrive in high growth ambiguous environments? Are you a process-oriented data driven leader that loves to dive deep to identify and engage top technical talent?

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services Recruiting team is seeking a talented, customer focused Sourcing Recruiter to join our global recruiting organization. You will be supporting AWS technical teams to build robust candidate pipelines and drive proactive sourcing strategies.

Successful Sourcing Recruiters on this team utilize their experience in candidate identification, market research, and pipeline development. They thrive in an innovative, fast-paced environment, can roll up their sleeves, work hard, and have fun to get the job done. They draw on extensive knowledge of sourcing tools, techniques, and talent markets, building strong relationships with recruiters and hiring managers.

We are looking for a Sourcing Recruiter to help grow and scale hiring in Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Sourcing Recruiter will be aligned to the business working closely with recruiters and AWS Talent Acquisition to execute sourcing strategies; including candidate identification, market mapping, pipeline building, and initial candidate engagement while delivering high-quality candidates for technical roles within AWS.

The ideal candidate must be able to earn trust and collaborate effectively with recruiters and hiring teams. They must be able to plan and prioritize sourcing activities, build and maintain candidate pipelines, have demonstrated ability to use metrics to track sourcing effectiveness and show results, while remaining calm in times of high volume and ambiguity. Thriving in a growth environment and having a strength in creative sourcing will be critical to success in this role.

The best candidate will draw on extensive knowledge of sourcing methodologies, tools, and talent markets while building effective partnerships with recruiters, hiring managers, and cross-functional teams.

Key job responsibilities:

• Partner with recruiters and hiring teams to build effective sourcing strategies for Network Development Engineer roles, leveraging baseline networking knowledge to identify and engage passive candidates through deep understanding of technical talent markets and sourcing channels. • Proactively source passive tech candidates with networking expertise, assess initial fit for NDE roles, and understand candidate motivations to build strong pipelines for Seattle and Arlington locations. • Provide sourcing insights and market intelligence to recruiters and hiring managers on networking talent availability, competitive landscape, and effective engagement strategies. • Develop sourcing models and execute robust search strategies using Boolean, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, and other tools to identify candidates with experience in routing protocols, network architecture, and infrastructure systems. • Recommend ideas and strategies that contribute to pipeline health and quality, implementing new sourcing techniques for hard-to-fill technical openings. • Document sourcing plans with clear deliverables, timelines, and metrics to track pipeline development and candidate engagement effectiveness. • Conduct initial candidate screenings to assess technical qualifications and interest level before passing qualified candidates to recruiters. • Participate in special projects and sourcing initiatives to identify passive networking talent.

A day in the life:

As a Sourcing Recruiter supporting AWS Infrastructure Services Networking, you will start your day reviewing pipeline metrics and candidate engagement data from the previous day. You will prioritize your sourcing activities based on urgent Network Development Engineer (NDE) openings in Seattle and Arlington, VA.

Your morning begins with a sync meeting with your Recruiting Business Partner to align on hiring priorities, discuss candidate quality feedback, and adjust sourcing strategies based on recent interview outcomes. You will review job descriptions for new NDE roles and clarify technical requirements to ensure your sourcing approach targets the right talent pools.

Mid-morning, you will conduct targeted searches using LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, and other sourcing tools to identify passive NDE candidates with experience in network architecture, routing protocols, and infrastructure automation. You will craft personalized outreach messages that highlight AWSs technical challenges and career growth opportunities, sending 20-30 InMails to qualified candidates.

You will spend time reviewing candidate responses, scheduling exploratory calls, and conducting initial phone screens to assess technical background, interest level, and location preferences. During these conversations, you will gauge candidate motivations and provide insights on AWSs networking infrastructure projects.

In the afternoon, you will meet with hiring managers to discuss talent market insights, review sourcing pipeline health, and refine search criteria based on evolving team needs. You will present market intelligence on NDE talent availability in Seattle and Arlington markets, including compensation trends and competitor hiring activity.

You will dedicate time to building and nurturing talent communities by engaging with candidates in your pipeline, sharing relevant AWS blog posts, and maintaining relationships with passive candidates for future opportunities. You will update your sourcing tracker with candidate interactions, pipeline metrics, and next steps.

Your day concludes with documenting sourcing activities, analyzing conversion rates from outreach to screen, and planning tomorrows sourcing priorities based on recruiter feedback and hiring manager urgency.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here
