Our client is seeking a Solutions Architect (Cloud Cybersecurity) to join their team for this contract role.
As a Cloud Cybersecurity Solutions Architect, you will serve as a primary technical authority and advisor for our cloud security evolution. You won’t just point out risks—you will architect the solutions that mitigate them. Working closely with the Assistant Director of Cyber Architecture, you will bridge the gap between complex security requirements and scalable cloud implementations, ensuring our digital transformation is secure by design.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Advisory: Provide expert technology risk guidance to project teams, ensuring cloud-native initiatives align with organizational risk appetite and compliance mandates.
Architectural Engineering: Design and maintain robust security reference architectures and reusable design patterns for Multi-Cloud/Hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Threat Modeling & Analysis: Lead deep-dive threat modeling sessions for complex cloud migrations to preemptively identify attack vectors and engineer automated mitigations.
Standardization & Governance: Author and maintain rigorous IT security standards and policies mapped to international frameworks, ensuring they remain practical and enforceable.
Risk Translation: Convert granular technical vulnerabilities into actionable business-impact narratives for executive leadership and governance committees.
Security Orchestration: Support the "Shift Left" philosophy by integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) workflows.
Continuous Improvement: Monitor the emerging threat landscape to evolve target-state architectures against modern tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
Required Qualifications
Education: University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Core Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT/Cybersecurity, with a heavy focus on cloud-native security services.
Specialized Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a dedicated Cloud Security Architect or Senior Security Engineering role within a complex, highly regulated environment (e.G., Finance, Government, Healthcare).
Framework Mastery: Deep, demonstrable knowledge of industry frameworks, specifically NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53/61/92, and ISO/IEC 27001/27002.
Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Level security clearance (requires 5 years of continuous Canadian residency).
Preferred Skills & Certifications
Certifications: Professional-level cloud certifications (e.G., AWS Certified Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer).
Security Credentials: CISSP, CCSP, or CISM.
Technical Literacy: Proficiency with Security Operations Center (SOC) tooling, Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), and Container Security (Kubernetes/Docker).
