    D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Solutions Architect. The right candidate is a senior technical role responsible for bridging enterprise architecture and feature-level implementation across engineering teams. This role ensures that all deployed solutions maintain high availability, reliability, and performance while adhering to established architectural best practices and standards.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Maintain a deep understanding of the enterprise architecture and translate it into practical implementation patterns for feature teams

    • Evaluate proposed designs and implementation plans for alignment with architectural standards, scalability requirements, and operational best practices

    • Define and enforce non-functional requirements including availability, reliability, performance, and security across deployed solutions

    • Identify architectural risks in team designs early and prescribe mitigation strategies before they reach production

    • Serve as a subject matter expert in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and integration patterns relevant to the organization''s technology stack

    • Review infrastructure-as-code, deployment configurations, and system integrations to ensure they meet availability and resilience standards

    • Drive adoption of architectural patterns such as fault tolerance, graceful degradation, circuit breaking, and observability across teams

    • Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to determine alignment with enterprise architecture standards and the organization's current capabilities and maturity

    • Facilitates architecture review sessions and design discussions across teams, building shared understanding and consensus

    • Translates enterprise architecture directives into team-level implementation requirements that are specific and actionable

    • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

    • Ability to travel overnight

    Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field

    • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in software engineering, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure

    • 3+ years spent in a dedicated Architecture or Principal Engineer role

    • Prior experience within a Fortune 500 environment or large enterprise is required

    • Experience translating complex technical risks into clear, value-driven business language for executive stakeholders

    • Deep mastery of API management, event-driven architectures and integrating legacy enterprise ERP systems

    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form or via DRH applications

    • Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision

    • The noise level is generally moderate

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's Degree Preferred

    • Advanced knowledge of identity management protocols, encryption standards, and enterprise compliance practices
