Job Title: Solder Technician


Job Description


The Solder Technician conducts, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical and electronic components in a warehouse-based, climate-controlled environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting electronic assemblies down to the component level, performing precise soldering and de-soldering work, and ensuring all repairs meet established quality and safety standards. The position requires strong technical aptitude, careful attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently on multiple repair orders and projects. The position follows a first-shift schedule, typically from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.


Responsibilities


+ Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic components and assemblies.

+ Analyze electronic issues down to the component level using appropriate test methods and tools.

+ Read and interpret schematic diagrams to diagnose and resolve faults accurately.

+ Perform soldering and de-soldering on both surface mount and thru-hole components to a high standard.

+ Maintain efficiency and timeliness in completing repair orders and assigned projects.

+ Comply with established quality performance standards and follow documented procedures.

+ Utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and voltmeters to verify functionality and diagnose problems.

+ Handle hard drive devices and other sensitive components in accordance with ESD (electrostatic discharge) policies and best practices.

+ Accurately enter data for completed units and repair activities using computer systems.

+ Maintain the work area, tools, and equipment in a clean, organized, and orderly condition.

+ Follow all warehouse safety regulations and guidelines while performing daily tasks.

+ Collaborate with team members and support others as needed to meet operational goals.

+ Perform all other duties as assigned, based on the needs of the warehouse and the business it supports.


Essential Skills


+ Ability to pass a Technical Aptitude Test, when applicable.

+ Solid understanding of technology systems and applications, including electronic componentry and basic electronic theory.

+ Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and voltmeters.

+ Skilled in soldering and de-soldering techniques, including both surface mount and thru-hole methods.

+ Ability to troubleshoot electronic issues down to the component level using analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.

+ Experience handling hard drive devices while adhering to ESD (electrostatic discharge) policy standards.

+ Comfort working both autonomously and as part of a team.

+ Strong thoroughness and attention to detail in completing technical tasks and documentation.

+ Proficiency in computer skills required for accurate data entry of completed units and repair information.

+ Minimum of a 2-year Electronics degree, an equivalent Electronics certification, or equivalent work experience.

+ Physical ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs., if necessary.

+ Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and to bend, push, pull, twist, and reach in a continuous or repetitive capacity, if necessary.

Work Environment


This role is based in a warehouse environment with a dedicated climate-controlled work room designed for electronics repair and testing. You will work with electronic assemblies, including surface mount and thru-hole components, and use equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, voltmeters, and soldering tools. The work involves handling sensitive devices, including hard drives, under strict ESD (electrostatic discharge) controls. The role requires the physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs., as well as to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, twist, and reach in a continuous or repetitive manner when necessary. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with clear warehouse safety regulations and performance standards in place.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rialto, CA.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.26 - $20.26/hr.
