About The Role
As a Solar O&M Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and operating utility-scale PV power plants. Reporting to the Site Manager of Renewable Operations – Solar, you will ensure the efficient and safe operation of solar facilities, contributing to our mission of delivering reliable renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the highest level of health and safety practices on the assigned solar plant.
- Monitor PV plant operation through SCADA with supervision.
- Commission, test, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and modify AC and DC solar PV systems.
- Follow operating, switching, maintenance, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Retrieve relay files and documentation with oversight.
- Utilize CMMS systems for maintenance tracking.
- Complete CMMS work orders in their entirety.
- Review, submit, and file all documentation and required reports.
- Communicate across the organization to resolve plant issues.
- Attend and pass training in safety, environmental, and job qualifications.
- Maintain work area and site housekeeping to 5S standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Valid U.S. Driver's license with acceptable MVR history.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- College, technical degree, or military experience preferred.
- Electrical certifications such as state or journeyman are a plus.
- One year of experience in operations or maintenance in power generation, transmission, or distribution preferred.
- Understanding of power plant, EH&S compliance, operations, and maintenance preferred.
- Experience in Lockout Tag Out and Job Hazard Analysis preferred.
- Basic technical knowledge of PV inverters and tracking systems preferred.
