Your Role

Akkodis is seeking a Software Test Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in test execution, defect analysis, and root cause investigation while validating vehicle software, troubleshooting system issues, and supporting test automation initiatives.

Rate Range: $40/hour to $42/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Sr Advanced Mechanical Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, execute, and document functional, integration, and system-level test cases for embedded vehicle software and features.

  • Collaborate with development and engineering teams to review requirements, ensure testability, and validate software functionality throughout Agile sprints.

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis of software and system defects, documenting findings in JIRA and supporting defect resolution.

  • Prepare and maintain test environments, including vehicles, test benches, tools, and software required for validation activities.

  • Support manual and automated testing efforts by creating, enhancing, and executing test scripts to improve validation efficiency and coverage.

  • Analyze test results, generate detailed reports, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and overall software quality.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in software validation, embedded systems testing, or vehicle software testing.

  • Strong experience in software testing, test execution, defect management, root cause analysis, and working within Agile development environments.

  • Proficiency in Python scripting, API integration, test automation, log analysis, and the use of testing and defect-tracking tools such as JIRA.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
