Work Arrangement: Primarily Remote | Must Be Within Driving Distance of Milwaukee to be in the office 1-2 days per month.

We are seeking a Software Project Lead to support a medical device software development team. This position functions primarily as a Scrum Master, helping an Agile software team stay organized, productive, and focused while also coordinating software documentation required for regulatory submissions.

While this role is largely remote and much of the day-to-day work can be performed from home, candidates must live within driving distance of the Milwaukee/Waukesha area and be available to attend occasional onsite meetings. Corporate preference is approximately 2-3 days onsite per week when needed.

What You"ll Do

  • Lead Agile software development projects and Scrum activities
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, backlog grooming, and other Agile ceremonies
  • Coordinate schedules, timelines, deliverables, risks, and cross-functional communication
  • Help maintain project scope and prevent scope creep
  • Remove roadblocks and drive accountability across development teams
  • Partner with Software Engineering, Quality, and Regulatory teams
  • Coordinate software documentation required for regulatory filings and product submissions
  • Support a software organization consisting of developers and testers working on desktop software applications used within medical device products

Required Qualifications

  • Experience as a Scrum Master, Software Project Lead, Software Project Manager, Technical Project Manager, or similar role
  • Strong Agile and Scrum experience leading software development teams
  • Experience facilitating meetings and driving projects to completion
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, schedules, risks, and scope
  • Experience working directly with software developers
  • Sufficient technical understanding to participate in software development discussions
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device industry experience
  • Experience supporting FDA-regulated software development
  • Experience with FDA 510(k), IVDR, IEC 62304, or similar regulatory processes
  • Experience coordinating design control, validation, verification, or regulatory documentation
  • Experience working with desktop software applications
  • Exposure to both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies

This role is an excellent fit for someone who has worked as a Scrum Master or Software Project Lead in a regulated software environment and enjoys keeping teams organized, facilitating productive meetings, managing scope, and ensuring projects move forward successfully. Candidates with medical device software experience and familiarity with regulatory documentation processes will be especially attractive.

Location Requirement: Candidates must reside within driving distance of the Milwaukee area. Although the position is primarily remote, occasional onsite collaboration is expected.
