Volt is immediately hiring for a Software and Network Systems Engineer in Seattle, WA.


As a Software and Network Systems Engineer you will:



* Design, configure, and deploy robust network environments for robotic systems, including VLAN segmentation and Cisco switch configuration.

* Build and maintain automated monitoring solutions using SNMP, collectd, and CloudWatch to ensure 24/7 system health visibility.

* Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation scripts to manage system deployments, updates, and configuration management.

* Perform deep-dive root cause analysis on network-layer issues affecting robotic performance in real-time environments.

* Utilize AI tools to speed up coding and configuration tasks, while providing the "human-in-the-loop" validation required to prevent hallucinations and ensure production-grade reliability.


This is a full-time, contract opportunity.


The ideal candidate will have:


Required Skills & Qualifications



* Strong experience with L2/L3 networking, specifically Cisco IOS, VLAN tagging, routing protocols, and network security.

* Hands-on expertise with SNMP polling/traps and building custom telemetry pipelines via collectd or similar agents.

* Proven experience with AWS (EC2, CloudWatch, IAM, and Networking/VPC).

* Proficiency in Python, Go, or Rust for building internal tools and automation scripts.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications



* Experience working with Robotics (ROS/ROS2) or IoT hardware deployments.

* Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).

* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment where software meets physical hardware.


Pay Rate: $65 - $80 per hour.


*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
