PGS Worldwide is seeking a Software Integration and Test Engineer in Sterling Heights, MI for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Software Integration and Test Engineer will support integration and testing of real-time embedded software for combat vehicle systems. This role includes integrating hardware modules, deploying software onto Linux operating systems, scripting, networking, cybersecurity hardening and scans, troubleshooting, and requirements-based software verification testing. The position requires embedded real-time software experience, software integration and test experience, Linux experience, and strong programming skills.

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.

2+ years of embedded real-time software development experience.

2+ years of software integration and test experience.

Experience developing, analyzing, or reviewing requirements for safety-critical real-time embedded software.

Experience integrating software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Experience integrating and testing software with real-time operating systems such as Linux or Unix derivatives.

Experience with computer networks, including switches, VLANs, and protocols.

Experience testing and troubleshooting communication protocol software, including CAN, Serial, and Ethernet.

Good programming skills with C++, Python, and BASH.

Experience with Git and Jira/GitLab configuration management tools.

Ability to develop, debug, and execute automated and manual requirements-based software verification testing.

Ability to build and maintain a software and hardware integration testbed.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

U.S. citizenship required for Secret clearance eligibility.

Preferred Skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.

Experience with traceability across software requirements, design, and verification artifacts.

Familiarity with military and commercial design standards.

Familiarity with UML modeling tools, DOORS, CMMI, Qt Framework, virtual machines, Nessus, Coverity, STIG rules, and system hardening.

Experience developing tests using NI Software such as TestStand, VeriStand, or LabVIEW.

Experience with Magic Draw, Enterprise Architect, or similar model-based engineering tools.

Familiarity with combat vehicle functionality and capability.

What You'll Do

Plan and perform software integration and test activities for real-time embedded software.

Integrate hardware modules into combat vehicle systems.

Integrate software items onto Linux operating systems.

Develop scripts and support networking, cybersecurity hardening, scans, and troubleshooting.

Perform requirements-based software verification testing.

Use version control and issue tracking tools.

Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Systems, and other engineering teams.

Mentor less experienced software test engineers.

Ensure technical work follows established engineering principles and practices.

Support customer, technical, system, performance, process, and quality requirements.

Work Schedule / Shift

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 9/80 schedule.

Pay

$46.07 per hour
