Job Description

We are seeking a Datacenter Technician to join our team supporting Juniper SE Labs. The candidate will demonstrate experience with datacenter operations, basic networking, equipment installation, provisioning, and maintenance, with the ability to support enterprise servers, storage, and telco networking equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Process inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Update and maintain lab inventory database (NetBox).
  • Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, servers, PDUs/CDUs, and console servers.
  • Provide end-user support for device troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Build small to large-scale network topologies for Juniper customers.
  • Assist users with building and provisioning virtual machines in vCenter/ESXi, KVM, and Proxmox environments.
  • Provide live support and assistance for Sales Engineers during customer presentations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Datacenter operations experience with physical installation and provisioning of network appliances.
  • Proficiency with Linux and CLI-based administration.
  • Experience using power tools and cage nuts, and ability to handle 50 lb+ equipment with lift tools.
  • Knowledge of server hardware and installation, including 4-post rail kits and virtual console.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet cabling and transceiver standards and types such as SMF, MMF, MTP/MPO, CAT6-RJ45, 1GbE-800GbE, DAC, and AOC.
  • Experience with physical setup and provisioning of switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Solid communication skills with proficiency in English.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time, 40 hours per week, with occasional business travel and overtime as required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Administrative experience with CentOS, Red Hat, Debian, and other Linux distributions.
  • Administrative experience with Windows and VMware.
  • Experience with network testers such as IXIA and Spirent.
  • Knowledge of protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, dynamic routing, SSH/SCP/SFTP, DNS, NFS, LDAP, CIFS, SMTP, SNMP, and DHCP.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in network communications management or equivalent preferred. Three years of field technician or datacenter technician experience is acceptable.

Work Details:

  • Work location category: HPE Site - Office. Onsite work required.
  • Client interface required.
  • Shift: 9 AM - 6 PM, 8 hours per day. Overtime may be required.
